A fantastic turnout today at the Wrestling Factory for Pippa L'Vinn's first show of 2010:
"No Mercy in Manchester".
This event was eagerly anticipated by a large audience which had an International line-up.
Wrestler's from England, Scotland, Hungary & Sweden graced the ring.

Pro. Style Contest:10 Minute Duration.
Lisa Fury v Sarah.

The first match of the day pitted England's Lisa Fury from Liverpool against Sarah from Scotland.
Lisa, having performed so well at this arena on previous occasions was well received by the crowd.
Her opponent, also making a welcome return, Sarah; another beautiful wrestler.
These 2 glamourous ladies in stunning costumes got the proceedings off to a flying start.
Both girls matched each other from the opening bell with arm locks then reversals by each, in quick succession.
Lisa appeared to gain the upper hand with a series of 2 counts. Lisa then applied a body scissors that was cleverly reversed by Sarah who came back at her. Lisa was cautioned by referee Richard for illegal use of her opponent's hair.
A bright opener was concluded by a pin towards the end of the match.

Mat Based Contest:10 Minute Duration
April Davids v Trixie.

The "Lancashire Hotpot", April Davids was presented with an award in the ring prior to her match:
"Outstanding Dedication To Wrestling Over The Past Year". This award is richly deserved as anyone who has ever witnessed April in action will know that she has the heart and spirit of a lioness.
The bout opened with a series of stand offs, each girl psyching the other out. Trixie, making her debut at the Wrestling Factory, soon got into the action and appeared to be really enjoying herself; always smiling and laughing throughout.
April had her opponent on the ropes and received a 5 count before being instructed to release the newcomer.
The mind games continued as April gained a 2 count.
Trixie then forced a painful looking scissors hold on April who, when asked by the referee if she was giving up, responded "Not on your life, I'm too stubborn".
April then brought her experience to bear with a superb bridge. Trixie, undeterred, came close with a 2 count.
An opening pin was equalled with a shoulder press. The match concluded with a 2-1 victory with a winning submission, 1 minute from time

Mat Based Contest:10 Minute Duration.
Pippa L'Vinn v Antscha.

Everyone's favourite and Britain's best lady wrestler, Pippa L'Vinn was first in the ring. She looked amazing in her tight fitting black & white print bikini.
The first Hungarian girl of the 2 on the event - Antscha, also wore a 2 piece costume, black with white trim.
Both ladies locked up and it soon became clear that there would be no quarter given by either.
Pippa applied brilliant use of her legs to filp Antscha over. Antscha was on the receiving end of a couple of 2 counts, kicking out just in time.
The first pin came from a superb roll-up. This was equalled soon after with a neck hold, close to the turnbuckle.
In this tightly fought match, a further 2 pins brought a 3-1 victory.
A fascinating match with Pippa showing she is equally adept as a Mat Based or Pro style competitor.

Pro. Style Contest:10 Minute Duration.
Jenny Sjodin v Colleen Masters

Swedens' Jenny Sjodin was next to the ring, closely followed by debut girl: Colleen Masters.
For show debutant Colleen this was baptism of fire; facing an opponent of such strength and determination in Jenny.
The Swedish combatant applied a number of strength holds, testing the strength of her opponent.
Colleen responded with a nice take down and was showing great technique both her offensive and counter moves.
This match was very technical with Colleen showing lots of promise with some spectacualr manouevres. Jenny, continued to work on Colleen's upper body with armbars added to the mix.
A submission in the last minute resulted in a narrow 1-0 victory in a fine display from both girls.

Mat Based Contest: 15 Minute Duration.
Shelby Beach v Viktoria.

Wigan's blonde bombshell Shelby Beach climbed through the ropes in a stunning blue one piece costume. Hungary's other wrestler, Viktoria, donned a pale blue top and navy thong style briefs.
This most intriguing bout was the last contest prior to the interval.
Viktoria forced a painful scissors on Shelby who soon counteracted with a near pin. Both girls appeared very evenly matched with neither giving anything away.
Shelby again forced herself onto Viktoria who responded with a brilliant reversal, forcing Shelby to comment:
"You've got some strong legs on you !"
The first fall came via submission and what followed is something rarely witnessed - the 2nd pin(s) resulted in both girls tapping out.
This fascinating match resulted in a narrow 2-1 victory.

INTERVAL

Pro Style Contest:10 Minute Duration.
Nikki Storm v April Davids.

Scotland's Niiki entered the ring, encouraging the crowd to cheer for her and boo her opponent !
April, making her second appearance of the day looked mean and determined !
However, her concentrated mood did not appear to affect Nikki who applied 2 arm bars in quick succession and came close to a couple of pins with two 2 counts. April temporarily left the ring, such was the ruthless start to the match by Nikki.
April then came back, stronger than ever, herself forcing two 2 counts. The match rocked back and forth with no girl being able to gain the upper hand. Nikki used 2 spectacular dropkicks and appeared to hurt her shoulder in doing so.
This close, hard fought bout ended with a one fall victory, via a pin.

Mat Based Contest:10 Minute Duration.
Trixie v Antscha.

Trixie re-emerged for her second appearance of the day, as did Hungarian girl Antscha.
As with her previous match it was so encouraging to see such an enthusiastic and spirited performance from newcomer Trixie.
Antshcha opened with a powerful leg scissors and followed up with a slam to the canvas on Trixie.
This match resulted in a victory for one lady with 4 pins. The result though conclusive, was in no way a reflection of the match itself as the winner did not have things all her own way on her road to victory.

Pro Style Contest:10 Minute Duration.
Carmel v Sarah.

Next up a battle of two of the girls from North of the border. The two proud Scottish ladies although sharing the same country by birth left any allegancies outside of the ring.
Carmel debuting at the show was a colourful character, beautifully turned out on a pink and black combo with Sarah in similar costume pink and stunning white.
Arm bars and counters were applied right from the off by both girls. Carmel was on the receiving end of a 2 count. Undeterred, she reacted positively and came up with some spectacular slams and throws.
Carmel countered with clever moves of her own and had her opponent firmly planted in the turnbuckle as she forced her left leg painfully onto her.
The bout was swinging both ways with both unable, it seemed, to get the ultimate advantage.
Then, in the intensity of the match, both girls came crashing to the mat with the referee counting over their apparent lifeless figures.....who responded to the call first ?

Mat Based Contest:10 Minute Duration.
Viktoria V Jenny Sjodin.

This International contest featured Hungary v Sweden.
Viktoria looked superb in her figure hugging pink and white bikini as did Jenny in bright red top and trunks.
Both girls fought as if their country's depended upon the outcome. An intense and very technical affair took place before our very eyes.
The match was very even, and far too close to predict who would triumph.
However, a first pin was achieved followed by an equaliser soon after.
Sadly, one wrestler sustained a very painful knee injury and was unable to continue.
The resulting injury was a complete accident and her opponent was in no way to blame.

Pro Style Contest:10 Minute Duration.
England v Scotland: Pippa L'Vinn, April Davids & Shelby Beach against Nikki, Sarah, Carmel & Colleen.

The final bout of today's superb show was a 3 against 4 pro style tag match with England's ladies coming up against some of Scotland's finest.
Pippa in a lovely pink swimsuit and tights took on Colleen Masters. Pippa lived up to the title of today's event and indeed showed " No Mercy" for her scottish opponent, Colleen.
Arm bars and take downs were dished out to Ms Masters. The English girls started to link up cleverly, exchanging in rapid succession to freshen up the attack in an effort to wear down each girl who was tapped in fom the Scottish turnbuckle. The Scots felt they were being unfairly treated and Carmel in particular attempted to take things into her own hands as her colleague was worked over and had to be restrained by the referee.
Pure mayhem evolved as each strived to create the advantage.
However, an unexpected visitor entered the ring, proudly representing her own country and somewhat surpisingly took the match all on her own....

Summary:

Yet another top notch show with everything one could ask for. Intense Mat Based action complemented by fast paced Pro. Style excitement. It was so good to see so many different countries represented here.
A fantastic effort by all of the ladies who performed today with a perfect balance of experienced performers along with exciting debuts.
The priveleged audience were treated to wrestling of the highest quality with beautiful girls in glamorous costumes.
Pippa's shows NEVER fail to impress and No Mercy In Manchester was right up there with along with the best of all of her previous events.
